I tried to give zero stars but the system made me click on at least one. If I could give negative I would or just put a big red warning. This “coach” also goes by John Gregory or maybe even John Michael. My only advice is run. He is a pathological liar that pretended to be a coach to con hockey parents. That’s the only reason I can think he would try to coach a hockey team. Once named as a coach, he offered private and small group lessons and while it started off fine and he was super complimentary of my kid, he then started talking negatively about other players. Things got weird from then on, with phone calls and text messages to me (mom). Finally, he started cancelling last minute and not refunding money. He even cancelled a group lesson once because his dad supposedly had died but his dad is alive and well (the internet is a thing). Once parents started comparing stories, it was apparent this guy was a podcast-level con man. Come to find out, he isn’t even USA Hockey certified and honestly, it is embarrassing that he got away with it for so long and that the organization let him on the ice with kids. After asking my son about it, he said “yeah, I don’t think he knew what he was doing out there. He was a weirdo.” Good lesson for me and my son to go with our guts and speak up. We were only scammed out of about $50 but several families never were refunded for a couple
